Bday Bash Raffle Update:  Micro Machine Necklace DIY’d by Sara Zucker

We can’t have an event without asking our favorite fashion blogger, who we’ve had many an adventure with, to contribute in some way!

In keeping with the Discovered Treasures idea of remixing items found in the store and turning them into amazing jewelry, Sara turned these micro machines that she bought at Cure into this awesome necklace to be raffled off at our Birthday Bash!

Don’t miss it!  And don’t forget, if you have the Blackbook NY app, you can download it and show it to us at the event for a FREE raffle ticket!

Woo!

Discovered Treasures Update

We named the necklace we posted “Afternoon Tea”, because it reminded us of some of the teacups we have in the store.  We also hollowed out a book to make a case for it!  Check it out!  We’ll be doing it for the other necklaces as well, decorating each book with different thrift themes!

We think this is SUCH a great idea.  Don’t have enough CD’s to make your own disco ball?  We’ve got plenty at CURE, so come on by and get some! ;)

If we didn’t already have an influx of disco balls donated into the store, we would probably make some ourselves.  Maybe we can do a crafts night at Cure and invite people to make disco balls out of old CD’s together!

We love making new things out of old stuff.

Cure Jewelry: Discovered Treasures necklace available at our 2nd Birthday Party

Made from broken jewelry donated to Cure.  We need some help naming the necklaces! What name does this necklace inspire?

Cure Jewelry:  Discovered Treasures at Cure Thrift Shop

Made from broken jewelry donated to Cure.  Available at our 2nd Birthday Bash, July 23rd 5-9 PM.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

We’re making such cool jewelry to be sold exclusively at Cure Thrift Shop.  The best part about the pieces are that they’re all one-of-a-kind, made from a mix of donations from different people.

These necklaces and more will be available at our 2nd Birthday Party (July 23rd), and as always the proceeds will benefit the Diabetes Research Institute.

Any suggestions on what the line should be called?

Cure Crafts: Tulle Flower Headbands

Crazy headbands are in right now… with giant flowers, feathers, and more!  Watch Sarah make some really cool tulle flower headbands out of things that have been donated to our store!

You can follow our step-by-step instructions to make one yourself, or stop by Cure and buy one from us!  If you do decide to make it yourself… we’re still your one stop shop for the supplies.

Cure Crafts: Tulle Flower Headband

We were fortunate enough to get a large donation of tulle from designer Bryan Bradley.  We had to try making something out of it, along with other little things we could find in the store.

These tulle floral headbands are so cute!  We’ll be posting a DIY video, and if you feel inspired to make one yourself, you can get all the supplies here at Cure!

We like adding little details to make things more unique.  Rosettes embroidered on these denim cutoffs do just the trick.
